AUDI
AZtech, are proud sponsors of the VMP
Audi racing team. Vic Maharaj, team manager
and F1 commentator had the following
to say: “We needed software that
would allow us to be productive from
day one and could import models designed
in other software accurately enough for
our modification work,” he stressed. “PowerSHAPE’s
intuitive interface and the great support
we received from the staff at AZtech
helped us to dramatically reduce design
bottlenecks. The software proved its
worth to us by reducing time from concept
to manufacture by days.”
“Even more important was our
use of a CimCore portable measuring arm
fitted with PowerINSPECT,” added
Mr. Maharaj. ”Following an accident
during a race, we needed to identify
whether our chassis and/or suspension
cross members were out of specification.
Again, the prompt response from AZtech
allowed us to measure specific points
and planes from the damaged area. By
referencing the data we collected back
to the CAD design specifications, we
were able to identify the exact position
and extent of the damage.” “We
are looking forward to a closer relationship
with AZtech in the future,” concluded
Mr. Maharaj.

AZtech Suzuki - Georgio Yannikarkis
On our very first outing and on a stock
standard Suzuki GSX R 1000, Georgio had
the privilege of "trying" to
compete against multiple SA champ Wayne
Heasman. With no experience, no mods
and no warming up of the back tyre, (paying
for tyres out of his own pocket), just
0.8 of a second separated the two! A
3rd place in his second outing, was impressive. "Great
adrenalin rush & good to see the
old reflexes still in check. Really enjoyed
seeing the look on my biggest fan clubs
faces, my kids".

AZtech Suzuki - Stewart & Brett
MacLeod
AZtech’s association with the
MacLeod brothers started in 1998. Both
brothers won the South African Superbike
championships in 1998 and 2000, on their
AZtech Suzukis. Brett had a fatal accident
in his international debut race at Kyalami
and is sorely missed. Stewart left Superbikes
in 2005, after a nasty crash that saw
him tangled in the back of Trevor Crooks'
bike. Well done to two deserving Champions
and the fastest brothers on two wheels,
ever.

Toyota Rally Champions
AZtech’s association with Toyota's
rally team stretches back to 1998. For
several years, Toyota brought home the
championship and we are proud to have
assisted them with research and development
in all aspects of CAD, CAM, reverse engineering
and quality control. We recently completed
a full 3D scan and generated a CAD model,
on our Konica Minolta 3D camera, of the
pre-launched Auris. We wish them every
success with their new vehicles in 2008.

AZtech Radio Controlled Aerobatic Plane
Champion - Christopher Harris
1998 was a bumper year for AZtech.
It was our first year as an independent
company after an MBO and with ten successful
years with The Vector Group, now part
of Comparex. In 1998, we backed three
sports teams, and all won their respective
championships. Christopher did us proud
as one of the youngest Champions in the
sport.
